We’ll enforce anti-grazing law in Oyo – Police |

The Oyo State Police Command says it will enforce and vehemently implement the anti-grazing law in the state.

The state Commissioner of Police, Johnson Adenola, said this on Tuesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, Ibadan.

Adenola said that the command had received some reports of herders grazing on farmers’ farmland in the state, adding that such action was unacceptable.

“I want to use this medium to remind the public that the command will vehemently and seriously implement anti-grazing law in the state.

“We all have our rights and we should limit ourselves to wherever we are supposed to be,” he said.

”The command will not tolerate or encourage anyone encroaching on another person’s right or destroying another person’s property in the course of carrying out their duties.

“It is unlawful and Oyo State Police Command under my watch will not tolerate it,” he said.

The commissioner dispelled a social media report of alleged farmers-herders clash at Ilowa-Gbade Village in Atiba Local Government Area of the state.

“There was a clash between one Tiamiyu and one Isiaka, they fought and inflicted injury on themselves,

“There was no issue between farmers and herders in the state,” Adenola added.
