Wike told Fubara he is down by 2-0, Wike might have won two battles but he cannot win the war -Okaba

Benjamin Okaba, the National President of the Ijaw National Congress, has responded to Nyesom Wike’s statement that Governor Siminalayi Fubara is “down by 2-0” in their political battle. He said that Wike may have won two battles but it does not mean he will win the war.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with News Central TV, Okaba said in the end, the real victory will belong to the people of Rivers State, not a small group of individuals who are determined to hold onto power at all costs. He stressed that democracy is not about a few powerful individuals but about the will of the people.

In Okaba’s words: “Wike told Fubara that he is down by 2-0, yes it is possible that Wike has won two battles but he cannot win the war. At the end of the day the war will be won by the people and not those minority persons who think they must grab power. This is about democracy and democracy is about the people”
