Your Hardship is Like Painful Surgery – Tinubu Tells Nigerians

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday described the hardship Nigerians are facing as the painful process of economic surgery.
He assured citizens that the country is beginning to recover and that prosperity is on the horizon.
Tinubu spoke at Mapo Hall in Ibadan, Oyo State, during the coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja.
He urged Nigerians to remain patient and resilient, promising that the sacrifices will soon yield results.
“To many of you here present, I am honoured and proud to share the cheering news that the economy has turned the corner. There is now a bright light at the end of the tunnel,” Tinubu said.
He acknowledged the suffering brought by his reforms, particularly the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of the exchange rate, but likened it to a necessary medical procedure.
“Your suffering is the pain of a painful surgery. But that pain has now turned to growth and prosperity that lies ahead. Thank you for your perseverance, your endurance, and your understanding,” he added.
The president arrived at the coronation at exactly 2:28 pm in company of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.
He was also joined by the governors of Ondo, Osun, and Ekiti States, alongside several members of the Federal Executive Council.
Diaspora Digital Media reports that Oba Ladoja had been formally crowned earlier in the day at the Ose Meji Temple in Ibadan South-East.
The new Olubadan succeeds the late Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who died in July after just one year on the throne.
The ceremony drew dignitaries from across Nigeria, including the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Adeoye, the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale, and the Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom, Oba Fredrick Obateru Akinruntan.
Also in attendance were former governors, senators, members of the House of Representatives, and top state lawmakers.
Tinubu’s remarks in Ibadan reflect his continued appeal for patience as Nigerians grapple with rising inflation, high food prices, and widespread unemployment.
The president maintained that his economic reforms, though difficult, are designed to secure long-term stability and prosperity.
